The Stroud showroom is set in a converted Victorian mill, which suits Sofas & Stuff's British-craft positioning perfectly and is a genuinely lovely place to spend an hour with fabric swatches. Neptune Cheltenham on 4 North Place (GL50 4DW) anchors the luxury end with proper country-house style. With 4 budget, 1 mid, 3 mid-to-high and Neptune at the high end, price coverage is genuinely solid for a smaller city catchment. What's missing: no Italian houses, no John Lewis, no IKEA, no Arlo & Jacob. Premium-Italian shoppers head to Bath or Birmingham. Practical bits: Gallagher Retail Park is easy off the A40, parking is free and plentiful, and combining the Gloucester end with Cheltenham works well as a half-day expedition. The Stroud detour adds 25 minutes but rewards you with Cotswolds scenery and one of the prettier showrooms in England. Avoid Saturday afternoons — Gallagher gets properly busy. Gloucestershire's spread-out furniture geography is annoying for time-poor shoppers but quietly excellent for variety.
