John Lewis Leicester at the Highcross Shopping Centre (LE1 4FQ) is the city-centre alternative to the Fosse Park retail-park melee — and frankly, after a lap of Fosse you'll appreciate the change of scenery. The sofa floor isn't enormous but the Partners-brand ranges plus the curated third-party bits (Halo, G Plan and so on) are properly considered. Park in the Highcross multi-storey, do John Lewis, and you've done the quality tier without leaving town. The sensible-mum approval still applies. Pair it with the Fosse Park crawl on a separate day or you'll lose the will to live.
