John Lewis Southampton on Queensway (SO14 1QL) is the proper city-centre fixture — Hampshire's main department-store sofa floor, complete with the usual Partners-brand ranges and the carefully-curated third-party bits. Park at West Quay across the road and walk through, or take the train into Southampton Central and you're a five-minute walk away. The sofa floor's not as enormous as the chain-store sheds at Hedge End, but the quality-per-square-foot is on another plane. Staff actually know what they're talking about.
